Christmas Craft Fair
Current Committee members (as of August 2018)
Tami Davis-Betelak
Pat Rafter
Description
The Festival of Carols is a church-wide Christmas Fair event to raise money for charity. Many different people in the church help with the making of crafts, baked goods, and a luncheon on fair day. We also need people who will set-up & tear down, and act as sales people.
Christmas fair proceeds are usually donated to a local, national and/or world charity. Examples of charities we have supported: Church World Service, the Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network, Bridges, and the Helping Hands and Youth Groups of our church.
For the past two years we have been able to sponsor Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together is a non-profit organization that rebuilds the homes of elderly and disabled low-income residents so that they are able to stay in their homes. Sponsorship includes a $2,500 donation which comes from the proceeds of the fair, but also a crew of people (normally provided by the Men's Ministries) to provide the labor on a house. It is a wonderful way to involve even more of our congregation.
Activities
Crafting workshops, baking, help on the day of the Fair. Held the 1st Saturday in December.
Fundraisers
The fair itself is a fundraiser.
Current Needs
Chairperson for the Committee
Workshop leaders
Area Coordinators
Volunteer opportunities & job descriptions
Crafters, bakers, salespeople, set-up, take-down
