Flower Coordinator

Purpose of Ministry:The purpose of serving as Flower Coordinator at the Milford United Methodist Church is to glorify God by coordinating the flowers provided for the altar for worship for Sunday and other services, including Easter and Christmas Eve.
Objectives:
  1. To provide flowers for all services through recruiting donors or by the use of artificial centerpieces
  2. Coordinate with donors, florists and the church secretary
Activities:
  • Recruit flower donations from the congregation by sign-ups or phone calls
  • Pray regularly for Flower Coordination Ministry
  • Monitoring a scheduling notebook by coordinating the dates of services with the donor's names
  • Order the flowers with the bill sent directly to the flower donor or instruct donor on flower ordering procedure
  • Notify the church secretary, prior to 9:30 a.m. each Thursday of the dedication to be printed in the Sunday bulletin
  • Provide artificial centerpiece, in the case of no flower donor.
  • Arrange, with donors, for flowers to be taken by donor or given to the sick, shut-ins or to nursing homes, after the service
  • Arrange for substitute Flower Coordinator

Length of Service:One year, renewable by mutual agreement
Training/Orientation:Work with a member of the Worship Committee
