Who We Are

Who We Are

For over 150 years, the Milford United Methodist Church (MUMC) has been helping people "discover the joy" of knowing and serving Jesus Christ. In living out that mission, we strive to be a vital congregation that is actively involved in serving our community and our world. We live in a world full of people who are hurting, and we believe that we are called to be a source of hope, healing, and transformation.

We are a welcoming and inclusive church, celebrating that every person is created in God’s image and of sacred worth. We give thanks for the beautiful diversity of the Body of Christ and joyfully invite ALL to discover the life-giving love of Jesus Christ.

We believe God’s love embraces all of creation, and through Christ we are drawn into fellowship with God and with one another. Whether you are a lifelong believer or just beginning your faith journey, you are welcome here. Together we gather for meaningful worship, grow in our understanding of God’s Word, and share Christ’s love through acts of care and service in our community.

Beyond worship, we find joy in fellowship and connection—through campfire services, Bible studies, community dinners, mission projects, and special events. As we learn, serve, and celebrate together, our faith deepens and friendships grow.

Our Vision

Our Vision

Help all people discover the joy of knowing and serving Jesus Christ by:

  • Providing joyful and meaningful worship experiences.
  • Establishing and encouraging small groups for study, support, prayer, fellowship and service.
  • Empowering people to discover, develop, and deploy their gifts for ministry.
  • Reaching out beyond our congregation in Christian love and service.

Our Values

  • Be faithful to Jesus Christ, our families, and our church family.
  • Act with integrity.
  • Strive for excellence in all we do for the Lord.
  • Celebrate the ministry of all Christians, lay and ordained.
  • Treat all people with respect and sensitivity.
  • Encourage people to grow in Christ.
  • Care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of all people.

How We Serve

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, taught that we pursue our faith in community and action with others. We practice a social holiness. We insist that personal salvation always involves Christian mission and service to our community and the world. The United Methodist Church has a long history of action and advocacy for social justice.  You can also edit this by clicking on it.

We are active in the community and in the world through a variety of ways.

  • We participate in local mission projects and service initiatives.
  • We support global missions through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and other mission organizations.
  • We advocate for social justice and working to address issues such as poverty, hunger, and inequality.
  • We offer counseling, support groups, and other forms of pastoral care.
