Benevolent Action Team (BAT)
Serving with Our Hands, Giving from the Heart
The Benevolent Action Team (BAT) is a hands-on outreach ministry of Milford United Methodist Church, dedicated to helping individuals and families in our community who face physical challenges or financial limitations. Our mission is simple: to provide practical assistance through minor home repairs and outdoor projects—offering dignity, comfort, and hope through service.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
Whether it's a safety concern, a seasonal task that’s become too difficult, or a project that would otherwise go undone, BAT steps in with willing hearts and working hands to get the job done.
What We Do
Our team of volunteers provides help with a wide range of basic home and yard needs, including:
- Building or repairing entry ramps for accessibility
- Installing window air conditioners
- Raking leaves and yard clean-up
- Mowing lawns and trimming shrubs
- Interior and exterior painting
- Small home repairs and maintenance tasks
Each project is done with care, compassion, and respect—free of charge for those in need.
Who We Serve
BAT serves anyone in the local community who may be experiencing hardship, living with a disability, aging in place, or simply unable to afford or physically manage home upkeep on their own. You do not need to be a member of the church to receive assistance.
How to Get Involved
Volunteers are always welcome—whether you're handy with tools, have a green thumb, or just want to lend a helping hand. If you or someone you know could use support from the BAT team, or if you're interested in volunteering, please contact the church office.
